v2 is the label MegaCamo uses for this rendition, and by eye it is the classic green-on-brown. This is the Rhodesian Brushstroke in its classic green-over-brown palette – warm olive and tan, overlaid with the fine, grass-like strokes that give the pattern its paint-splashed edge. Green is the top layer, brown beneath, on a light tan field – the reading most people picture when they hear the word brushstroke.

The Rhodesian Brushstroke is the pattern worn by Rhodesian (today Zimbabwean) security forces from the mid-1960s to 1980. When the pattern was revived in Zimbabwe in the 1990s it was often printed brown over green instead, so the build order is not a rigid identifier across every single garment – but the dense, drawn-on strokes always are. Rather than soft shapes or pixels, it is built from short, brush-drawn horizontal strokes over a solid base, which gives it a rough, painterly look that is instantly recognisable to camouflage collectors. A khaki-tan base is broken up by broad olive-green shapes and warm mid-brown blocks, then finished with fine olive and brown strokes that scatter across the surface like dried grass.

Because the mesh is airy and the print is fine, Rhodesian Brushstroke v2 comes across as texture more than as a statement: the olive, tan and green hold their contrast up close and soften into a quieter surface at a few paces. This is the T45 sports mesh t-shirt: 100% polyester mesh cloth at 7.05 oz, with a relaxed fit and a soft hand that keeps it comfortable from the first wear. It weighs about 0.19 kg, so it stays light on the shoulders even in the larger sizes.

The mesh is open enough to move air and dry quickly, and the double-needle hemmed sleeves and bottom hold their shape instead of fraying. The print sits in the fabric and is made not to fade, so the camouflage stays as sharp as the day it was made.
