Pattern: German WWII Platanentarn Fall
It is worth being precise about the lineage: Platanenmuster belonged to the SS camouflage programme rather than the standard army issue, and the pattern is one of the most studied and reproduced of the German wartime series. Platanenmuster is German for “plane tree pattern,” and it is one of the earliest camouflage designs the Waffen-SS fielded during World War II, introduced around 1937. German WWII camouflage is some of the most collected in the world, and Platanenmuster is a genuine early piece of that history, not just another woodland.
Why own it. Leaf patterns sit at the root of modern camouflage design, and this cut carries that history without going full military.
