Pattern: German WWII Platanentarn Summer
Platanenmuster, the plane-tree pattern known in German as Platanentarn, was designed by Johann Georg Otto Schick and field-tested in 1937, then produced until 1944. It is built from large overlapping foliage forms rather than dots or pixels, and it was printed on reversible fabric: the summer coloration on one face, the autumn palette on the other. This listing carries the summer reading of the drawing.
Why own it. Platanenmuster belongs to the first generation of printed German camouflage, and it is one of the few wartime designs whose leaf forms are still recognised at a glance. Bought on a quilted windbreaker, the pattern is worn rather than archived.
The windbreaker. It is cut with an adjustable drawstring hood, a full front zipper, two pouch pockets, elastic sleeve cuffs and a bottom hem, and is made in a regular fit. The outer shell is 100% polyester and the lining is quilted polyester staple fibre. It weighs about 0.63 kg.
Sizes. Sizes XS to 2XL. As a made-to-order garment it carries a production tolerance of about ±5%; the garment measurements are listed in the chart at the end of this page.
Made to Order. There is a fulfilment time of 4-7 days for the fabric printing and the sewing. Shipping directly after fulfillment.
Care. Machine wash cold.
