About the Palmenmuster camouflage

Palmenmuster built its effect from repeated feathery, palm-like shapes set against an irregular blotched ground. Instead of dots or hard blobs, the pattern grows along the fabric in curving strokes that produce an organic, layered surface. Like the rest of the German wartime family, it was dyed in seasonal palettes so that soldiers could blend with the changing colours of the landscape.
