German WWII Splittertarn 41 v3 is the warm end of the same family. Here the ground is khaki-olive, and the shards come in a medium green over a scattering of pale sand. The geometry is unchanged, flat polygons with sharp corners and no blurring at the edges, but the temperature is different: where the cool reading pulls toward blue-grey and overcast, this one reads as dry, sun-bleached and slightly dusty. The pale sand accents separate the green shards and keep them from merging at a distance.

MegaCamo labels this one the German WWII Splittertarn 41 v3. The splinter print behind it runs in two recorded tiers: an army pattern first issued in 1931, and an air-force version cut with a smaller splinter and a more complicated layout, produced from 1941 to 1944. The name itself is loose, since Splittertarnmuster, Splittertarn and Splittermuster are three forms of one term rather than three patterns. Both tiers keep the hard-edged polygons, the sharp corners between coloured patches and the random dashes scattered over the ground to break the silhouette. The v-number is MegaCamo’s own catalogue reference for this colourway.

The khaki-olive ground sits closer to skin tones and to sand-coloured trousers than the cool reading does, and the pale sand forms keep the medium green from closing up when the shirt is worn loose. The mesh is open enough to move air and dry quickly, and the double-needle hemmed sleeves and bottom hold their shape instead of fraying. The print sits in the fabric and is made not to fade, so the camouflage stays as sharp as the day it was made.
