Sumpfmuster (marsh camouflage) is a German World War Two-era pattern built from soft, water-like blotches overlaid with fine rain streaks, named for the marshy, waterlogged terrain it was designed to break up. Camopedia notes the Sumpftarn family had three consecutive versions, and the pattern was later revived by the West German BGS in the late 1950s. It appeals to collectors of German World War Two camouflage. The ground is a warm olive-tan, and over it sit broad, soft, water-like blotches in an olive-green, a green and a russet or dusty red-brown, overlaid with a fine vertical rain-streak texture.
