German WWII Pea Dot 44 is built from dots. A light tan ground carries a dense field of small rounded spots in dark green, brown and a black-olive, each roughly the same size and scattered evenly across the surface instead of grouped into patches. There are no long strokes and no hard corners in it: the texture is granular and uniform, high in density, so at a distance the dots blend into a broken tonal field while up close the print looks finely stippled.

MegaCamo labels this one the German WWII Pea Dot 44. The pattern’s German name is Erbsenmuster, introduced in March 1944 and developed by Otto Schick, and it was the first wartime Waffen-SS pattern that was not reversible, so a single print could serve through every season. Its five colours sit as small rounded areas dotted over larger irregular shapes, which is where the pea and dot nicknames come from. It grew out of the oak-leaf print that preceded it, and English writing also knows it as the pea pattern or dot 44.

A granular pattern like this works well on mesh.
