Pattern: Australian AUSCAM DPMU MID-POINT

A warm sand ground filled with lobed shapes in tan, olive-brown, red-brown and mustard. The tones sit in the middle of the scale — warmer and stronger than a pale desert print, but far lighter than a woodland pattern.

DPMU stands for Disruptive Pattern Mid-Point Uniform: it keeps the rounded AUSCAM shapes and gives them a new colourway — light grey, sand, olive green and reddish brown over a yellowish sandy base. It was trialled around 2010 for the green-belt areas of Afghanistan, and the trials found it performed worse than the existing AUSCAM, so it was never adopted. The mid-point name refers to that palette sitting halfway between the woodland and desert versions of the pattern. This colourway is offered by MegaCamo under its own DPMU MID-POINT label.

Warm sand with red-brown and mustard accents makes this the most outdoor-looking of the Australian desert colourways, and it reads especially well with khaki, tan and brown.

The shirt itself

This is the T45 sports mesh t-shirt: 100% polyester mesh cloth at 7.05 oz, with a relaxed fit and a soft hand that keeps it comfortable from the first wear. It weighs about 0.19 kg, so it stays light on the shoulders even in the larger sizes.

The mesh is open enough to move air and dry quickly, and the double-needle hemmed sleeves and bottom hold their shape instead of fraying. The print sits in the fabric and is made not to fade, so the camouflage stays as sharp as the day it was made.
