The tiger stripe is a family of jungle camouflage developed by South Vietnamese forces for close-range jungle combat, adopted by US Special Forces in Vietnam from late 1962 to early 1963. The urban rendition recolours those feather-edged bands onto a grey ground, a neutral reading of the pattern that suits stone and concrete better than jungle greens. By eye it is a cool grey take: a light grey ground carrying darker grey and charcoal feather-edged bands, with a faint cool tint rather than the warm sand of the desert variants.
