Pattern: Rhodesian Brushstroke v1
This is the softest version of the Rhodesian Brushstroke in the catalogue. v1 takes the pattern and washes it right down – pale sand tones, a gentle grey-green and very low contrast, so the whole thing reads light and airy rather than bold. On a fleece-lined hoodie it is the least shouty of the brushstrokes, the one you can wear without the print ever dominating the outfit.
About the Rhodesian Brushstroke
The Rhodesian Brushstroke is the pattern worn by Rhodesian (today Zimbabwean) security forces from the mid-1960s to 1980. It is a brush-drawn camouflage made of short horizontal strokes over a solid base, which gives it a painterly, hand-finished look that collectors recognise at a glance. The drawn-on strokes carry the identity of the family; the broad shapes and the strength of the palette are what change between renditions. v1 is where that palette gets its most delicate.
The v1 colorway: the palest, softest rendition
v1 is the MegaCamo label for this version. The base is a very pale sand or cream, the green is a soft grey-sage rather than a strong olive, and the tan shapes are kept light – all with the fine strokes in a similarly gentle tone. There is a low-contrast, almost faded quality to it, as if the pattern has been printed in a pastel range. It is clearly still a brushstroke, but it is the airiest, quietest take in the set.
How the pattern reads on your hoodie
Low contrast usually means pattern that disappears on a garment, but here it does the opposite – the pale, gentle tones let the brushstroke sit as a texture rather than a graphic, so it looks considered rather than garish. The organic shapes and fine strokes still wrap cleanly around the chest, sleeves and kangaroo pocket, and on the smooth printed face of this fleece-lined hoodie the soft detail stays legible up close while receding from across the room.
Why own this fleece-lined hoodie?
Choose v1 if you want the camouflage identity without the visual noise. The soft palette means it works like a neutral – it pairs with almost anything and never competes with the rest of your outfit, while still being a genuine, recognisable brushstroke up close. If the contrast-heavy greens feel like too much, this is the version that fits a quieter wardrobe.
Comfort, fit and build
This fleece-lined hoodie is built for everyday wear. It is 100% polyester with a soft brushed fleece interior, an adjustable drawstring hood, long sleeves with ribbed cuffs and a roomy front kangaroo pocket that holds a phone and keys. The fit is relaxed, so it layers easily over a T-shirt and still looks tidy under a heavier jacket.
Made to order, sizing and care
Like every MegaCamo piece, this hoodie is made to order. It is printed and sewn only after you place your order, then shipped once fulfilment from our supplier is complete – expect 4 to 7 days of production before it ships, on top of transport. Sizes run S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, with a +/-5% tolerance in length from manual measurement and the print process. To keep it at its best, machine wash cold, do not bleach and do not tumble dry.
