About the US Navy AOR family

The US Navy introduced its AOR digital camouflage family in the early 2010s, using the pixelated, fractal-based approach that had made the Marine Corps MARPAT so effective. AOR2 is the green rendition, built from small blocky shapes in olive, green, grey and dark accents, made to break up the figure in woodland and vegetated terrain. It is widely recognised because of the elite units that wore it.

“AOR2” is the catalogue label for this green-dominant rendition: an olive-green base carrying grey, tan and dark shapes in a fine pixel grid. It is the richer, more saturated member of the AOR family, and the green-heavy palette gives it a clear woodland bias.
