About the US Navy AOR family

The US Navy fielded its AOR digital camouflage in the early 2010s, following the pixel-based approach of the Marine Corps MARPAT. AOR1 is the desert colourway, built from small blocky shapes in tan, sand and brown. It is the counterpart to the green AOR2 and is associated with operations in dry, open and urban environments.

“AOR1” is the catalogue label for this warm rendition: a sand-tan base carrying brown and darker tan patches in a fine pixel grid. It is noticeably warmer than the grey-green Universal version, and it gives the pattern a sun-baked, desert character.
