About the tiger stripe family

The tiger stripe is a family of jungle camouflage developed by South Vietnamese forces for close-range jungle combat, adopted by US Special Forces in Vietnam from late 1962 to early 1963. This desert rendition recolours those feather-edged bands onto a sand ground, a brighter, arid reading of the pattern rather than the classic jungle green.

The CIA colorway

“CIA” is the MegaCamo label for this bright desert rendition, a look often associated in photos with US advisory and special-operations units of the Vietnam era. By eye it is pale: a sand-cream ground carrying light tan and pale cream feather-edged bands, with little dark contrast. It is the lightest, most sun-washed member of this set.
