AOR1 is the desert colourway, built from small blocky shapes in tan, sand and brown. The low, tonal contrast keeps it understated and easy to wear, while the crisp digital detail keeps it from looking flat. The US Navy fielded its AOR digital camouflage in the early 2010s, following the pixel-based approach of the Marine Corps MARPAT. Desert tan is one of the most wearable camouflage palettes there is — it is warm, neutral and goes with a huge range of clothing.

Because the mesh is airy and the print is fine, USN AOR1 comes across as texture more than as a statement: the green, tan and brown hold their contrast up close and soften into a quieter surface at a few paces. It pairs as easily with denim, white, grey and navy as a plain tee does.

The shirt itself

This is the T45 sports mesh t-shirt: 100% polyester mesh cloth at 7.05 oz, with a relaxed fit and a soft hand that keeps it comfortable from the first wear. It weighs about 0.19 kg, so it stays light on the shoulders even in the larger sizes.

The mesh is open enough to move air and dry quickly, and the double-needle hemmed sleeves and bottom hold their shape instead of fraying. The print sits in the fabric and is made not to fade, so the camouflage stays as sharp as the day it was made.
