Czech Vz 85 Camouflage Lightweight Hooded T-Shirt

Pattern: Czech Vz 85 Leaf — Woodland Green

This is the predecessor to the Czech Vz 95. In the mid-1980s Czechoslovakia began experimenting with a leafy camouflage built on the idea of the American M1948 ERDL, and Vz 85 is the pattern that came out of those trials. It has the same organic, irregular leaf-and-twig structure as the ERDL family, but with its own Czech palette.

The Vz 85 woodland green is an earthy, high-contrast design. The base is a khaki-green, and over it sit broad yellow-green, dark olive and black organic shapes, plus warm brown accents that give the pattern depth. The build order is classic leaf camouflage: big soft fields of colour broken by sharper, smaller leaf shapes.

On a lightweight hooded tee the leaf shapes have room to spread across the chest and arms, so the pattern reads clearly rather than turning into a busy blur. It is the sort of camo that looks like a European woodland at distance and gets more detailed the closer you look.

Why own it: Vz 85 is the rarer, more transitional Czech pattern — the design that led directly to the famous Vz 95 that the Czech Army still uses. It is a genuine piece of late-Cold-War European camo history, and its green leaf palette works well as a distinctly European woodland top.

The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.

Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what lets us offer patterns that would never be worth stocking.

Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
