Pattern: French Tundra v1 — Chasseurs Alpins mountain white

The Chasseurs Alpins are the French Army’s mountain infantry — the “alpine hunters” who train and fight in the high mountains of the Alps. Because their environment is snow, scree and broken rock, they have long had an association with white and pale camouflage suited to that terrain. MegaCamo labels this family “Tundra”, and it is a catalogue colourway for a snow-and-mountain camo: a pale, bright white base carrying thin, broken, horizontal streaks of olive green and a soft pinkish-tan. The green shapes look like small boughs or lichen; the pinkish-tan reads like weathered rock or bare branches catching light.

The design is organic and non-digital, built from soft irregular dashes rather than blocks or pixels. It sits somewhere between a snow pattern and a light mountain woodland — the white ground breaks up the soldier’s form against snow, while the green and tan fragments add texture where the rock and vegetation peeks through. It is a delicate, airy pattern, much lighter and more open than a dense woodland camo.

On a lightweight hooded tee, that open, pale look is very effective. The white base keeps the garment bright, and the thin olive and tan streaks run across the chest, arms and hood as part of the all-over print. It does not look like a typical camo top — it is lighter, cleaner and more alpine, with the print continuing unbroken from hood to hem.

The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you can see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, sits smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a light piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print covers the whole garment, so the pattern continues across the chest, arms and hood without a gap.

Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what allows a niche alpine pattern like this to be offered at all.

Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, skip the bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Gentle washing keeps the white ground clean and the pale tan and green streaks crisp.
