French GIPN Urban v2 Camouflage Lightweight Hooded T-Shirt

Pattern: GIPN Urban v2 — a cool grey urban mottle

GIPN was the Groupe d’Intervention de la Police Nationale, the French police’s direct-action units built for hostage rescue and counter-terrorism in urban settings, later absorbed into the RAID between 2015 and 2019. That city environment is the starting point for the “Urban” family: camouflage designed to sit in concrete, asphalt and stone rather than forest or desert. MegaCamo calls this rendition “GIPN Urban v2” — again, a catalogue colourway, our label for a grey urban disruption rather than a pattern the unit officially fielded.

Where v1 leans warm, v2 leans cold. The base here is a neutral, slightly cooler mid grey, and the overlaid shapes are charcoal and a lighter slab grey, all with that same soft, organic, blurred edge — no pixels, no hard geometry. The overall effect is more monochrome and more minimal than v1, and it is the cleanest, most neutral of the three GIPN colourways. There is no brownish warmth tugging at it, so it reads straight as “grey camo” in the plainest, most wearable sense.

On the garment that cool, low-saturation look is what makes it easy to wear. A hooded tee in v2 does not present as a costume or a loud statement; it reads like a smart, slightly technical city top. The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you can see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a light piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print covers the whole garment, so the pattern continues across the chest, arms and hood without a gap.

Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, skip the bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Gentle washing keeps the cool greys even and free of a smudgy haze.
