About the Erbsenmuster camouflage

Erbsenmuster appeared in 1944 as a five-colour dot pattern intended to combine the disruptive qualities of earlier German designs in a single, reversible-friendly fabric. It replaced the larger, softer-pointed dots of the earlier dotted patterns with small rounded spots printed in tan, brown, green, light olive and black. The dotting sits densely enough that the pattern stays effective at a distance while remaining busy and recognisable up close.

The 44 colorway

“44” refers to the 1944 introduction of this more saturated, dot-dense version. The palette leans warmer than the muted swamp patterns that came before it — a tan base carrying brown and green dots with darker accents, giving the fabric a speckled, almost painterly field appearance.
