About the US Duck Hunter (frogskin)

Duck Hunter, also known as frog skin, has roots in 1942, when cloth was commissioned for US Marine Raiders. Its best-known form, the M1942 reversible “frog skin”, was worn by US Marines in the Pacific. The original fabric was reversible – one green, spring/summer side and one brown, autumn side – and both were built from small, soft, leaf- and pebble-like blotches rather than stripes or pixels.

“Summer” is the MegaCamo label for this rendition, and by eye it is the brighter, greener reading of the frogskin. A pale sage-cream field is broken up by mid-green leaf shapes and paler lime highlights, with only a few soft brown-grey pebbles for balance. It is the sunniest of the duck-hunter colourways, and the one that reads most clearly as green from a distance.

Because the design is made of soft rounded blotches instead of fine stripes or dense dots, it spreads cleanly across the chest, down the sleeves and over the kangaroo pocket without turning to noise. Expect 4 to 7 days of production before it ships, on top of transport. Sizes run S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, with a +/-5% tolerance in length from manual measurement and the print process. To keep it at its best, machine wash cold, do not bleach and do not tumble dry.
