This is the Norwegian M98 pattern in its sun-washed desert colours. Most people picture Norwegian camo as deep green and brown, but this rendition swaps the dark woodland tones for sand and pale sage — a lighter, warmer take on a much-admired design.

About the Norwegian M98 camouflage

M98 is the pattern adopted by the Norwegian Armed Forces in 1998, built from large, irregular blotches rather than tight dots or pixels. It was designed to work against the varied forests and terrain of Norway, and its big, organic shapes break up the body effectively at a distance. Over the years it has been printed in several palettes, and the desert version was created for arid and drier environments.

The Desert colorway

This rendition uses a pale sand-khaki base carrying light sage-green and warm brown blobs. The low-contrast, earthy palette is much softer than the classic green M98, and it gives the hoodie a light, sun-faded character that looks good against tan and beige clothing.

The large, rounded blotches sit comfortably across the chest, sleeves and hood, and their broad, curved edges keep the design from looking busy. The soft palette reads as a smooth, natural texture from a distance while the shapes stay clear up close, and they flow cleanly over the kangaroo pocket.
