United Arab Emirates Marines Chocolate Chip Camouflage Lightweight Hooded T-Shirt

Pattern: Six-Colour Desert “chocolate chip” — a cool grey-tan rendition

This lightweight long-sleeve hooded tee carries the six-colour desert structure, but in a much cooler key than the warm American original. Here the ground is a pale off-white and light grey, the broad soft-edged blotches sit in a soft slate-blue and a dusty grey, and the familiar small dark specks are scattered through in near-black and deep brown. The chocolate-chip construction is unmistakable; what has changed is the temperature of the palette.

The pattern family is the United States Six-Colour Desert, nicknamed Chocolate Chip or Cookie Dough for the way those small dark flecks dot a lighter field. Developed by the US and standardized for the Desert Battle Dress Uniform from the early 1980s, it spread well beyond America — Saudi Arabia used a copy for decades and the United Arab Emirates standardized on it around 1993. This cooler rendition is a MegaCamo colourway of that family, a grey-and-blue reading rather than the issued tan version, and “United Arab Emirates Marines” is the catalogue label it sits under.

How it reads on the garment

Swapping the warm tan for grey-blue gives the print a quieter, more urban feel that is less obviously “desert” at a glance. The pale ground keeps the shirt light, and the dark specks add texture without turning it into a loud graphic. On the hood and sleeves the pattern travels cleanly around the body, so it works as a subtle layer rather than a showpiece.

Wash at 45°C or below, avoid bleach and avoid any prolonged soaking to keep the print at its best.
