Pattern: Chilean Army ERDL
This is a Chilean Army colourway based on the ERDL leaf pattern. ERDL — the Engineer Research and Development Laboratory pattern from the late 1940s — is the ancestor of modern woodland camouflage, built from irregular leaf-like blotches. This catalogue rendition re-colours those leaf shapes in an unusual purple-and-tan palette.
MegaCamo’s catalogue labels this the Chilean Army ERDL. On the image the soft leaf-shaped blotches are a mauve-purple, a pale tan, an olive-green and a near-black, arranged across the garment in the classic ERDL construction. The purple is the striking element; it is a colour-shifted rendition rather than a fielded uniform print.
On a long-sleeve shirt the purple-and-tan leaf shapes read as a bold, fashion-forward camouflage. The ERDL construction is unmistakable, but the purple palette turns it into a statement piece. It is one of the more unusual and eye-catching patterns in the range.
Why own it: the purple rendition of a classic ERDL is a genuinely distinctive, creative piece. It keeps a real camouflage lineage while adding an unmistakable purple colourway, so it stands out immediately as wearable art.
The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.
Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.
Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what lets us offer patterns that would never be worth stocking.
Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
