Pattern: French Tundra v2 — Chasseurs Alpins mountain white
The Chasseurs Alpins, the French Army’s mountain infantry, are built around high-altitude combat in the Alps — snow, rock and scree — and it is that terrain that gives the “Tundra” family its reason to exist. This white mountain camouflage uses a pale, bright base and scatters thin, broken, horizontally-running streaks of olive green and soft pinkish-tan across it, in a soft and organic, non-digital layout. Where v1 is the balanced rendition, v2 is the sibling colourway: the same family, the same white ground and olive-and-tan accents, but with the green streaks sitting a little denser and more strongly placed. It is a closely-related take on the same alpine idea rather than a genuinely different pattern.
Visually, the difference between the two renditions is subtle. In v2 the green bough-like shapes feel a touch more present and the pale tan a little less dominant, so the overall balance leans slightly greener and cooler than v1. The design principle is identical: the white base breaks up the silhouette against snow, and the green and tan fragments stand in for exposed rock and sparse alpine vegetation. It is an airy, light pattern — far more open than a dense forest camo.
On a lightweight hooded tee this pale mountain look is striking precisely because it is not the usual camo. The bright white ground keeps the top fresh and clean, and the olive and tan streaks flow across the chest, arms and hood as part of an unbroken all-over print. It reads as a light, refined alpine print rather than a heavy combat pattern.
Why own this version: it is a distinctive, bright take on camouflage tied to a genuine and well-regarded mountain unit, and the denser green balance of v2 gives it a slightly cooler, more forested feel than the more tan-forward v1. If you prefer the greener end of the alpine palette, v2 is the rendition to choose, while v1 covers the same ground with a more even spread.
The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you can see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, sits smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a light piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.
Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print covers the whole garment, so the pattern continues across the chest, arms and hood without a gap.
Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what allows a niche alpine pattern like this to be offered at all.
Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, skip the bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Gentle washing keeps the white ground clean and the pale tan and green streaks crisp.
