About the pattern

The Greek lizard is a brushstroke camouflage derived from the French tenue de leopard, adopted by Greece around the 1970s and used by the Hellenic Army. Camopedia notes a variety of colourways were produced at different times. This v5 render is the coolest — a grey-teal version of the design, with the same long, horizontal brush strokes as the classic lizard but in cool grey-green and slate tones on a grey-taupe ground. It is a distinctly cool, muted take on the lizard family.

The ground is a grey-taupe or grey-brown, and over it sit long, horizontal brushstroke shapes in a grey-green, a slate blue-grey and a muted brown-grey. The strokes are feathered and organic, drawn long across the surface. The palette is the coolest of the lizards — grey-taupe, grey-green, slate and brown-grey — with the slate blue-grey lending it a distinctly cool character. It reads as a muted, cool-toned lizard, quite different from the warm classic green.
