About the pattern

The Greek lizard is a brushstroke camouflage derived from the French tenue de leopard, adopted by Greece around the 1970s and used by the Hellenic Army. Camopedia notes a variety of colourways were produced at different times. This v4 render is a cool, grey-toned version of the design — the same long, horizontal brush strokes as the classic lizard, but with cooler grey-green colours on a pale stone-grey ground. It is a muted, less-warm take on the lizard family.

This Greek Lizard v4 colourway

The ground is a pale stone-grey or grey-tan, and over it sit long, horizontal brushstroke shapes in a grey-green, a muted brown and a soft grey. The strokes are feathered and organic, drawn long across the surface. The palette is cool and muted — stone-grey, grey-green, brown and grey — with less of the warm olive of the classic lizard. It reads as a cool, subdued grey-green lizard, softer and greyer than the classic green version.
