About the pattern

The CE (Central Europe) woodland is a French brushstroke camouflage built from broad diagonal strokes, widely worn by former French colonies. Camopedia records that, at the same time the Gabonese armed forces adopted variations of the CE woodland, members of the Gendarmerie adopted its own colourway with a predominantly grey colour palette. This render is the grey CE woodland brushstroke of the Gabon Gendarmerie.

The ground is a light grey, and over it sit broad, diagonal brushstroke shapes in a medium grey, a tan and a grey-green, with feathered, brush-drawn edges. The strokes run diagonally and overlap to break up the surface. The palette is predominantly grey — light grey, medium grey, tan and grey-green — giving the pattern a muted, urban look. The feathered edges give it the characteristic brushstroke texture of the CE woodland family.

How it reads on the garment

Because the strokes are broad and the palette is grey, this pattern prints with a soft, muted, urban feel.
