About the pattern

Camopedia records that, beginning around 2008, the standard camouflage uniform of the Georgian Armed Forces became a copy of the US Marine Corps temperate MARPAT digital design. It is a pixelated or digital woodland built from small square-ish dots and blotches rather than smooth organic shapes; Camopedia notes the Georgian copy does not include the USMC Eagle, Globe and Anchor embedded in the design, and its colour palette is slightly different. The base is a green, and over it sit dense pixelated shapes in a dark green, an olive-green, a brown, a tan and scattered black accents. The design is made of small irregular pixel dots and blotches, giving the whole surface a textured, granular “digital” appearance. The palette is temperate woodland-like — dark green, olive, brown, tan and black — with the pixelation giving it a broken, dappled look. It is dense and detailed, with the colours blending into a mottled digital field.

How it reads on the garment

Because the shapes are pixelated and the palette is woodland, this pattern prints with a dense, textured, digital feel. On the body the green ground sits behind the dark green, olive, brown and black pixel shapes, giving the surface a granular, dappled texture. It reads as a true digital woodland, with the pixelation giving it modern, technical character. The green ground sits reasonably against the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline tidy.
