Pattern: Greek Lizard Air Force
The blue-grey Hellenic Air Force lizard — blue, grey and black brushstrokes on a dark grey-blue ground.
About the pattern
The Greek lizard is a brushstroke camouflage derived from the French tenue de leopard, adopted by Greece around the 1970s. Camopedia notes a variety of colourways were produced at different times and for different branches. The Hellenic Air Force is associated with blue-dominant lizard variants, and blue patterns were worn by Greek air force personnel before being withdrawn around 2021. This render is that blue-grey air force lizard — the brushstroke structure of the Greek lizard reworked in a cool blue-and-grey palette.
This Greek Lizard Air Force colourway
The ground is a dark grey-blue, and over it sit broad brushstroke shapes in a grey, a lighter blue-grey and a black or very dark charcoal. The strokes are horizontal-ish and organic, with feathered, brush-drawn edges. The palette is entirely cool — grey-blue, grey and black — with no green and no brown, so the pattern reads as a muted, cool-toned lizard. The darker ground gives the lighter grey-blue strokes a subtle contrast, and the brush-drawn edges give it the characteristic lizard texture.
How it reads on the garment
Because the palette is cool and the strokes are broad, this pattern prints with a soft, muted feel rather than a bold one. On the body the grey-blue ground sits behind the grey and black brushstrokes, giving the surface a feathered, organic texture. It reads as a subtle, cool-toned lizard, quite distinct from the green lizard. The dark ground sits reasonably against the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline neat.
Why own it
If you want a cool, distinctive lizard camouflage, the Greek Lizard Air Force is a strong pick — it is tied to the documented Hellenic Air Force blue-grey colourway, so it appeals to collectors of lizard-family and Greek camouflage. Its muted blue-grey and black palette is genuinely cool and understated, pairing naturally with denim, grey, navy and black. It is a distinctive, wearable camo that stands apart from the more common green lizard.

Production and fulfilment take about 4–7 days before your order is handed to shipping; courier delivery time then depends on your destination. Please double-check the size chart before ordering — because each item is made for you, returns are easier to avoid by choosing the right size up front. If a print runs slightly differently from what you see on screen, that is the nature of made-to-order garment printing.
Disclosure
This is a reproduction / military-inspired item, not an issued uniform, and the garment itself is a modern printed piece for everyday wear. The Greek lizard naming and the Hellenic Air Force blue-grey colourway come from documented pattern history, but this is not official issue equipment.
