Pattern: Iranian Air Force M81 v2
The same blue-and-grey Air Force woodland, this time on a darker slate-ground — the cooler, more muted sibling of the Air Force M81.
About the pattern
The Iranian Air Force has a distinctive colour variation of the classic US M81 woodland: instead of greens and browns, its woodland runs black, blue and grey shapes, a palette Camopedia records as having been worn by Iranian Air Force personnel. The original render keeps the pale background; this v2 version takes the same M81 woodland structure and irregular blotches but sets them on a darker, cooler grey-slate ground. “v2” is a MegaCamo colourway label for this more muted interpretation of the Air Force M81 family.
This Air Force M81 v2 colourway
The base is a mid-grey with a cool slate cast, noticeably darker than the pale version. Over it sit the familiar M81 woodland shapes — irregular, organic blotches with rounded edges and small branching breaks — in a steel-grey, a deeper blue and near-black. The mid-grey ground ties the blues and blacks together, so the whole pattern sits closer in value and reads as a more subdued, smokier print than the pale blue variant. It is still unmistakably blue-and-grey, but with a neutral, almost charcoal feel.
How it reads on the garment
Because the values are closer and the ground is a mid-grey, this pattern prints with a softer, more understated feel than the bright pale-blue version. On the body the grey ground sits behind the blue and black blotches, giving it a smoky, muted rhythm that is easier to wear on a daily basis. It reads as a cool urban or naval woodland at a distance, and it does not dominate an outfit. The grey ground blends gently into the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline clean.
Why own it
If you like the blue M81 idea but find the pale version a touch bright, this v2 is the muted sibling that is easier to wear every day. It carries the same documented Iranian Air Force colourway lineage, so it appeals to collectors, while its charcoal-grey cast makes it one of the most neutral, wearable woodland prints around. It pairs naturally with grey, black, denim, navy and olive, and it reads as a subtle, cool-toned camo rather than a loud one.

Made to order
Each hooded tee is printed and sewn to order rather than stored in a warehouse, so the pattern is freshly applied for you. Production and fulfilment take about 4–7 days before your order is handed to shipping; courier delivery time then depends on your destination. Please double-check the size chart before ordering — because each item is made for you, returns are easier to avoid by choosing the right size up front. If a print runs slightly differently from what you see on screen, that is the nature of made-to-order garment printing.
Disclosure
This is a reproduction / military-inspired item, not an issued uniform, and the garment itself is a modern printed piece for everyday wear. The M81 woodland naming and the blue-grey Air Force colourway come from documented pattern history; “v2” is a MegaCamo colourway label and this is not official Iranian or US issue equipment.
