Pattern: Iranian takavar Panther v3
An olive-cast desert spot pattern with an olive-ground and darker olive-brown spots — the greenest and deepest of the takavar Panther family.
About the pattern
The Panther spot pattern worn by Iranian takavar special-operations troops is a home-grown copy of the American m1942 spot camouflage, produced since the 1970s. Camopedia records that the most common versions are the tan or desert ones, but that a variation substitutes green for the more common khaki-brown. This v3 render leans into that greener direction: instead of the sand-and-gold of v1 and v2, it uses an olive-khaki ground with darker olive-brown spots. It is the greenest and deepest of the three takavar Panther colourways.
This takavar Panther v3 colourway
The base is an olive-khaki, a muted yellow-green rather than a pale sand, and over it sit rounded, irregular spots in a darker olive-brown. The spots are a clear step darker than the ground, giving the pattern good definition while keeping the whole thing in the green-brown register. There is no black or heavy contrast — the palette stays earthy and muted. The shapes are organic and soft-edged, and they are fairly dense, covering much of the surface. It is the most saturated and deepest-toned of the three Panther renders.
How it reads on the garment
Because the olive ground and olive-brown spots are well separated in value, this pattern prints with a clear, readable structure and a richer colour than the pale v1. On the body the olive-khaki ground sits behind the darker spots, giving the surface a grounded, earthy rhythm. It reads as a classic desert-and-woodland hybrid spot camo, with the olive giving it a little more presence than the sandy versions. The olive ground sits well against the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline uncluttered.
Why own it
If you want a spot pattern that is a little more grounded and colourful than the pale desert versions, the takavar Panther v3 is a good pick — the olive-and-olive-brown palette has more presence while staying muted and wearable. It carries the genuine lineage of the Iranian copy of the American m1942 spot design, worn by takavar special-operations personnel, so it appeals to collectors. And its olive-earth palette pairs naturally with khaki, olive, tan, denim and brown, making it a versatile everyday camo.

If a print runs slightly differently from what you see on screen, that is the nature of made-to-order garment printing.
Disclosure
This is a reproduction / military-inspired item, not an issued uniform, and the garment itself is a modern printed piece for everyday wear. The Panther naming and takavar association come from documented pattern history, but “v3” is a MegaCamo colourway label and this is not official Iranian issue equipment.
