Pattern: Australian AUSCAM DPCU
If you have ever wondered what camouflage looks like when it is built from hundreds of tiny beans, this is it. The Australian DPCU pattern scatters small, rounded shapes across an earth-tone base, and on a hoodie it becomes a lively, all-over print that is a long way from generic.
About the Australian DPCU (AUSCAM) camouflage
The Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform is the Australian military’s five-colour pattern, developed to work in the dry, open country of Australia and often called AUSCAM or “jelly bean” camo. It was trialled from 1983 and standardised in 1986, then served the Australian Defence Force until AMCU took over in the 2010s. Instead of long brushstrokes, it uses tiny independent blobs of olive, brown, grey and khaki — a look that is widely imitated and instantly recognisable.
The DPCU colorway
This rendition keeps the classic DPCU palette: a light khaki-tan ground with olive-green, mid-brown and grey-blue spots. The balance leans earthy and warm, and the small, scattered shapes give the pattern a speckled, high-energy feel that works well on a large print surface.
How the pattern reads on your hoodie
Because the shapes are small and evenly distributed, the print looks balanced from every angle and does not clump or stripe. It wraps naturally around the sleeves, stays clean on the hood, and the specks hold their colour on the kangaroo pocket, so the whole garment reads as one continuous design.
Why own this fleece-lined hoodie?
AUSCAM is a friendly-looking camo — more graphic and approachable than a deep woodland pattern. That makes it a great everyday piece: you get a real military design that is easy to wear and easy to style, in a warm hoodie you will not want to take off.
Comfort, fit and build
A full-colour print covers the outer fabric while a soft fleece lining keeps you warm and comfortable. It is a classic pull-over with a drawstring hood, long sleeves and a kangaroo pocket, made from 100% polyester with a smooth drape.
Made to order, sizing and care
This is a Made to Order item: printed and sewn after you order, with production and fulfilment running 4-7 days before shipping (not the total delivery, which varies by destination). It comes in sizes S to 5XL, with a +/-5% possible length deviation from manual measurement and production. Care: machine wash cold, do not bleach, do not tumble dry.
