About the Italian Telo Mimetico / San Marco camouflage

Italy was an early pioneer of camouflage: its M1929 telo mimetico was one of the first general-issue patterns in the world, printed for shelter-halves and later uniforms. After the war the standard changed, and in the early 1990s the Italian Navy’s San Marco Brigade adopted a new five-colour spattered design to replace it — the pattern collectors now call “San Marco”, built from stone, sand, russet brown, olive green and black. It stayed in Marine service until the Navy moved to Vegetata in the early 2010s.

The v3 colorway
