Pattern: French CCE

An olive-khaki ground carrying large horizontal blotches of dark green and earth brown, cut across by thin black branch-like strokes. The overall reading is a deep, leafy green with warm brown patches.

CCE stands for Camouflage Centre Europe, the pattern the French Army introduced in 1991 to replace both the léopard uniforms and the plain khaki F2 dress. Officially described in French documents as the bariolage théâtre européen, it is built from four colours — black, earth brown, dark green and dark beige — arranged in broad horizontal woodland shapes, with a structure influenced by US woodland camouflage. It was in general service by 1994 and is being replaced from 2024 by the bariolage multi-environnement. The same family of colours has also been applied to French Army vehicles since 1986, in shapes of their own.

This is the most traditional woodland look in the French range, and on a mesh tee the green-and-black structure gives the shirt a proper military reading without becoming heavy: pair it with olive, khaki or plain black.

The shirt itself

This is the T45 sports mesh t-shirt: 100% polyester mesh cloth at 7.05 oz, with a relaxed fit and a soft hand that keeps it comfortable from the first wear. It weighs about 0.19 kg, so it stays light on the shoulders even in the larger sizes.

The mesh is open enough to move air and dry quickly, and the double-needle hemmed sleeves and bottom hold their shape instead of fraying. The print sits in the fabric and is made not to fade, so the camouflage stays as sharp as the day it was made.
