About the pattern

Camopedia records that the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force adopted a pixelated camouflage design in 2015, incorporating black, mid-blue and light blue shapes on a very pale blue background, and that this design was likely to replace the earlier woodland-type pattern. Where the older Iranian Air Force woodland ran black, blue and grey organic shapes on pale blue, this pixelated render moves the same cool palette into a modern digital structure. It is a distinctive blue military pattern, one of the few camouflage families that leans so strongly into the blue register rather than the usual green and brown.

The base is a very pale blue, close to a light sky or pale-ice tone. Over it sit clusters of pixel in a mid steel-blue, a darker navy-blue and scattered black accents, with small flecks of paler grey-blue tying them together. The pixels are small and tightly packed, so the print reads as a fine, even grain rather than as large chunky blocks. The whole palette stays cool and blue with no green or brown, giving it a clean, almost metallic appearance.
