Pattern: Australian DESERT-AUSCAM DPMU Mid-Point — desert disruptives

This is the mid-point desert rendition of the Australian Desert Pattern Disruptives. Between the warmer and the paler desert versions of the Australian disruptives sits a balanced, mid-tone rendition, and this is it.

The DPMU Mid-Point colourway sits on a warm sand base. The soft-rounded shapes are filled with a rich brown, a light olive-tan and a muted grey-green, so the pattern lands between the very warm MKI and the very pale MKIII. It keeps the dry, desert feel but with a bit more warmth and depth.

On a hooded tee this reads as a balanced, natural desert camo. It is warmer than the pale version but calmer than the green woodland, which makes it a versatile everyday piece that sits comfortably between the two.

Why own it: this is the middle point of the Australian desert disruptives, giving a nice balance of warmth and lightness. It is a real Australian national pattern and a very wearable desert camo.

The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.

Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what lets us offer patterns that would never be worth stocking.

Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
