About the pattern

In 2010 the Republic of Korea Armed Forces replaced its earlier camouflage with a single new pixelated design, one that reference sources record by the name Granite B or Granit B. The name comes from the Korean Hwa-gang-am (화강암), simply “granite”, a nod to the way the pattern breaks a surface up the way polished stone does. Alongside the Marine Corps pattern and the older “Doksa” Special Warfare design, Granite B became the common uniform for the ROK Army, Navy and Air Force — the Marines keeping their own digital tiger-style print. The palette is set by ground, air and naval personnel: black, dark olive green, sea green, medium brown and khaki, arranged not in leaf blobs but in sharp, even, blocky digital clusters.

This Granite B colourway

The MegaCamo render reads cooler and more desaturated than a typical woodland. The base is a grey-tinged green — sage, almost slate — and over it sit tiny rectangles and squares of olive, a mauve-brown, a hint of dark sea-green and scattered flecks of pale cream. There is very little warm tan or rust in this version; instead it leans grey and mineral, so the overall impression is closer to weathered concrete than to a leafy forest. That is the mark of the granite family: a deliberately low-contrast, multi-range digital pattern rather than a high-contrast woodland.

How it reads on the garment

Because the shapes are small, even and tightly packed, Granite B prints on this long-sleeve hooded tee with a fine, dense, almost pointillist texture. Up close you can read individual pixel cells; at a distance they merge into a soft grey-green field with no single dominant block. The low contrast means the pattern never shouts, which is exactly what makes it easy to wear as a plain, everyday piece — it reads as printed fabric rather than as military kit. The pale grey hood lining and collar sit quietly against the sage ground, keeping the neckline clean.
