Pattern: Bulgarian 1960 Raindrop
This is the Bulgarian raindrop pattern, a classic of the Eastern Bloc. The ‘rain’ construction is made from hundreds of short, vertical drip marks rather than colour patches, and the Bulgarian version is one of the most recognisable examples — a quiet, almost woven-looking print that reads like rain falling on pale cloth.
MegaCamo’s catalogue calls this the Bulgarian 1960 Raindrop. On the image the ground is a pale grey-tan, and the pattern is a dense scatter of short, dark vertical dashes and streaks, all roughly the same length and evenly distributed. There are no blobs and no pixels — just the repeating vertical drips that give the pattern its name.
On a long-sleeve hooded shirt the raindrop texture reads as a fine, even speckle that never sits heavy. From a distance it looks almost like a textured neutral; up close the vertical dashes become clear. The pale palette keeps it subtle and easy to wear, and it pairs quietly with most casual clothing.
Why own it: the raindrop is a genuinely unusual and historically interesting pattern, rare in modern apparel. Its repetitive vertical drip construction is unlike almost anything else, and the muted palette makes it a discreet, characterful piece.
The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.
Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.
Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what lets us offer patterns that would never be worth stocking.
Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
