Pattern: French Lizard B1 — a pale grey-greige brushstroke
This one slips toward the cooler end of the French lizard family. The base is a pale grey-greige — a soft, washed light beige with a faint pink cast — and over it run brushstrokes in a grey-green and a muted dusty rose. The whole thing is low-contrast and soft-edged, so the shirt reads almost like a faded botanical print rather than a hard military pattern.
MegaCamo calls this the B1. The family it belongs to is the French lizard, the brushstroke camouflage the French Army wore from 1947 into the late 1980s. The French knew it as camouflage léopard, collectors call it TAP 47, and it descends from the British airborne Denison smock. Critically, it was never a single look: the original run used many dyes and cloths over about ten years, all issued at the same time. That is precisely why a family of near-variants like this exists — and it means the B1 is a faithful recognition of the family’s real breadth, not a made-up design.
The B1 colourway is the pale, muted member of the set. Compared with the warmer A2 or the richer D, the B1 keeps its greens and reds light and dusty, so the overall read is calm and a little retro. On the garment the strokes still flow and wrap across the sleeves and torso, but the low contrast makes it a quiet, understated camo — the kind you can wear in the city without it dominating an outfit. It has an almost watercolour quality.
Why own it
For a collector, the B1 is a good way to cover the pale, faded end of the French lizard range without buying a real piece of 1950s issue. And because it is so muted, it is one of the easiest camos to actually wear daily: it slides under a jacket, works with grey, white, denim and cream, and never feels costume-y. It also gives you a genuinely different read from the greener or redder lizard sheets in the same catalogue.
Fit, fabric and care
This is a long-sleeve lightweight hooded tee in a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend — stretchy, smooth and light on the body. It is available in S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL and weighs 0.374 kg. Because it is made to order, allow a small production tolerance of around ±5% and consult the size chart before choosing your option. Wash at or below 45 °C, skip the bleach, and avoid prolonged soaking.
Made to order
The shirt is printed all-over and sewn only after you order it, so there is a production and fulfilment period of roughly 4–7 days before it ships, with delivery time depending on where you are. The result is a full-garment print where the B1 pattern covers the whole tee.
Part of the collection
This B1 is one of several French Lizard sheets in the catalogue, sitting alongside the A2, C1, D, tropical, E1 and F1 variants. If the pale, washed direction appeals, keep browsing the French camouflage family — the CCE woodland and Daguet desert sheets offer a different grounding in the same national heritage. A full list of available camos by country is always on MegaCamo.
