The family is the United States Six-Colour Desert, nicknamed Chocolate Chip or Cookie Dough because those small dark flecks over a lighter ground read like chocolate chips in cookie dough. Developed by the US and standardized for the Desert Battle Dress Uniform from the early 1980s, it was copied by many regional forces, including long use in Saudi Arabia and standardization in the United Arab Emirates around 1993. This rendition is a MegaCamo colourway of that family, a green reading sometimes grouped with the ERDL-style variants, and “ERDL Dots” is the catalogue label.
