Pattern: French Lizard A2 — a muted sage-and-rust brushstroke
Look at the shirt and the first thing you notice is how soft the whole thing reads. This is the French lizard family — the brushstroke camouflage the French army wore for decades — but recast in a quiet, warm palette. The base is a pale olive-sage green, and over it run long, wavy brushstrokes in a dusty brick-red and a slightly deeper olive. Nothing is sharp, nothing is digital; every mark is a rolling, organic streak.
MegaCamo labels this the A2, one of several colourways in its French Lizard set. The lizard family — the French called it camouflage léopard, and collectors know it as TAP 47 or simply the Denison-derived brushstroke — was first used by the French Army on uniforms from 1947 through to the late 1980s, and it grew directly out of the British paratrooper Denison smock. What is important here is that the family was never one pattern: it was printed in a long run of different dyes and fabrics over roughly a decade, all used side by side, so a set of variants like this one is authentic to the family rather than a modern invention.
The A2 colourway sits on the warm, muted end. The sage base and the dusty brick-red accents keep it earthy and a little faded, the way a well-worn issue jacket looks after a season in the field. On the garment the brushstrokes wrap and flow across the whole surface, giving the tee a hand-painted, painterly energy rather than a factory-printed one. It is the kind of pattern that reads as camouflage up close and as a rich woven textile from a few steps back.
Why own it
If you collect camouflage, the French lizard is one of the great historical families, and the A2 gives you a warm, desaturated take that sits comfortably next to the greener and colder variants in the same set. Because it is muted, it is also an easy one to wear: it pairs naturally with olive, brown, denim and khaki, and it does not shout. You get a genuine military lineage with a colourway that feels more vintage than tactical.
Fit, fabric and care
This is a long-sleeve lightweight hooded tee cut in a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you and stays light and smooth on the body. It comes in S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL, and weighs 0.374 kg. Being made to order, a small production tolerance of around ±5% applies, so check the size chart against your usual fit before choosing an option. Wash cold — at or below 45 °C — do not bleach, and do not leave it soaking for long periods.
Made to order
Because this tee is printed all-over and sewn to order, there is a short production and fulfilment lead time of around 4–7 days before your item ships; actual delivery then depends on your location. The result is an all-over print where the French Lizard A2 pattern blankets the whole garment rather than sitting in one chest graphic.
