About the pattern

The Indian armed forces’ Disruptive Pattern Material is an overlapping green and brown palm-leaf design on a khaki ground, and Camopedia notes considerable variability from very light to very dark between different print runs. The PC designation refers to peacekeeping forces and the pattern carries the crossed-sword Indian Army logo. This v2 render is a lighter, cooler take on that PC DPM: the same palm-leaf shape language, but with a more muted, grey-toned palette and less of the harsh black contrast that defines the standard version.

This PC DPM v2 colourway

The base is a pale khaki-tan, and over it sit broad, overlapping palm-leaf shapes in a grey-green, a muted tan and a softer brown, with only light black accents. Compared to the standard PC DPM, the greens here are cooler and greyer, the browns are softer, and the black is far less prominent. The overall cast is lighter and more subdued, giving the pattern a gentler, more washed-out look. The shapes are the same broad, organic palm leaves, but they read as softer and less defined.

How it reads on the garment

Because the palette is lighter and the black is muted, this pattern prints with a softer, more understated feel than the standard PC DPM. On the body the pale khaki ground sits behind the grey-green and tan palm-leaf shapes, merging into a gentler, mottled field. It reads as a lighter, more easy-going version of the Indian DPM, and it is less visually aggressive. The pale ground blends cleanly into the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline tidy.
