About the pattern

The ROK military’s “Tonghab” (통합, meaning “Unified”) was the single general-issue camouflage standardised across the Republic of Korea Armed Forces around 1996. Instead of a grab-bag of local designs, one print served the whole force. It is a woodland pattern in the ERDL/M81 tradition — soft, organic, irregular masses in green, brown, tan and black — and is routinely described as very close to the American M81 woodland. In Korea it earned the nickname “Frog” (개구리), and it followed the earlier M-1990 combat uniform lineage before being superseded by digital patterns.

So the pattern behind these v2 sheets is a genuine national issue design with a documented story, not a made-up catalogue print. It is familiar to anyone who knows classic woodland, but the “Unified” origin and the native nickname give it a specific South Korean identity worth having on the shelf.

This v2 colorway

v2 sits very close to v1 — both are warm readings of the Tonghab woodland. Where v1 leans a touch more red-brown, v2 comes across slightly lighter and more khaki-forward: the tan shapes show a little more ground, and the green reads marginally fresher. It is a subtle difference between two warm siblings rather than a bold new palette, which is exactly what a generation variant looks like in real woodland printing. If v1 is the “green-heavy” take, v2 is the “a little more tan” take.

How it reads on the garment

Because it is the same medium-scale woodland, it wraps the torso in one continuous field of linked organic shapes. No digital pixels, no hard geometry — just soft-edged interlocking masses that break up the outline the way woodland is designed to. From a distance it is a mottled green-and-brown; up close the individual finger- and leaf-like shapes become traceable. The plain light-grey hood lining frames the print and keeps the collar clean.

This is the “quieter everyday” pick of the family. If you like classic woodland but want something a shade lighter and more neutral than a dark green-heavy print, v2 sits in that sweet spot.
