This is the Bulgarian 1951 Splinter, an early Cold-War pattern in a cold, bluish palette. Where most splinter camos lean green, this version runs in pale grey with slate-blue and a red-brown accent, giving it a distinctly cool and moody look.

On the image the ground is a pale grey, and the splinter shapes are a slate-blue-grey, a softer grey and a muted red-brown, rounded and broken rather than sharply angular. The palette is cold, with the blue-grey sitting against a light ground.

On the hooded tee the cool splinters read as a quiet, understated camo with an almost urban or winter character. The pale ground and blue-grey shapes keep it light and easy to pair, and the rounded splinter construction gives it a soft, watercolour feel.

The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.

Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
