Pattern: ERDL with a purple colourway
This long-sleeve hooded tee is printed with a large organic leaf-and-puddle pattern on a light purple base, finished with scattered clusters of dark dots. That combination is what makes it stand out: it takes the classic ERDL-style shapes — big, irregular, slightly rounded patches that flow into one another — and re-paints them in a bold violet palette, then sprinkles the small dark specks across the surface.
ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratory) is an American woodland camouflage family developed for the US military, originally in green, brown and black; the dark, scattered “chocolate chip” style dots you see here are a nod to the speckled desert patterns that wore those little black points. This purple rendition is MegaCamo’s house colourway — an interpretation, not a pattern that was ever issued in these colours. So treat “Deep Purple” as our name for this variant, and the ERDL-style construction as its real lineage.
How it reads on the garment
The large soft shapes give this a very different feel from a fine, granular camo. Up close the dark dots add texture and make it feel detailed rather than flat; from a normal distance the pebble-like purple patches read as a big, stylised, almost painterly print. On a hooded long-sleeve cut the pattern flows around the torso and down both sleeves, so the print has room to breathe instead of being squeezed onto one panel.
Why own this lightweight hooded tee?
This is camouflage you buy for the look, not to disappear. The purple palette is deliberately bold, so it works as a statement piece — the kind of garment you wear when you want the pattern to be the point. It is also a fun addition for collectors who already have the classic green ERDL and want to see what happens when the same structural shapes get a completely different colour treatment.
Because it is a lightweight hooded long-sleeve tee, it is comfortable and easy to layer, so you can wear it somewhere between a t-shirt and a light jacket. It is not a heavy fleece, which means it works in milder weather without overheating.
Fit, fabric & care
The tee is 94% polyester / 6% spandex — soft, stretchy and quick to dry. It is cut long-sleeve with a hood, in sizes S to 3XL, and weighs around 0.374 kg. As a printed garment it carries roughly ±5% production tolerance, so if you are between sizes, gravitate up.
Care: machine wash at or below 45°C, do not bleach, and avoid prolonged soaking so the colours stay vivid. Slight variation in print placement between pieces is normal on a made-to-order item.
Made to order
Every tee is printed and sewn once you place your order. Fulfilment from our supplier takes 4–7 days before shipping; delivery time afterwards depends on destination, so the 4–7 days is the production window, not the full delivery estimate.
This is a decorative reproduction, not an official-issue military pattern.
Printed and sewn on order. Shipping directly after fulfillment from our supplier.
