Pattern: German BW Splitter Starke
A crisp splinter pattern in green, brown and tan — a Bundeswehr-era take on the German splitter design.
About the pattern
The German Splittertarn (splinter pattern) family is defined by angular, splintered shapes overlaid with fine rain streaks, descending from First World War-era German camouflage work and refined in the wartime Splittertarn 31. Camopedia records that the design was given new life as a general-purpose uniform for the Bundeswehr beginning in 1956. This render is a Bundeswehr-associated splinter pattern with splintered shapes and the characteristic rain streaks, in a green, brown and tan palette.
This Splitter Starke colourway
The ground is a pale olive-tan, and over it sit angular, splintered shapes in a moss green and a reddish-brown, overlaid with fine rain streaks and a few off-white accents. The splinters are sharp and fragmented, with straight edges and angular corners, quite unlike the soft blobs of a woodland. The palette is warm but muted — olive-tan, moss green and reddish-brown — with the fine rain streaks adding a wet, streaky texture. The off-white accents give it brightness and definition.
How it reads on the garment
Because the shapes are angular and overlaid with fine rain streaks, this pattern prints with a crisp, broken feel rather than a soft one. On the body the olive-tan ground sits behind the moss green and brown splinters, giving the surface a fragmented, streaky texture. It reads as a clean, distinctive splinter camo with a distinctly German character. The warm ground sits well against the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline tidy.
Why own it
If you like the German splitter family, this Bundeswehr-era take is a clean and characterful example — the crisp splintered shapes and fine rain streaks are unmistakably German. It carries the documented lineage of the splitter design, so it appeals to collectors of German camouflage. And its muted olive, green and brown palette pairs naturally with olive, khaki, tan, denim and brown, making it easy to wear.

Production and fulfilment take about 4–7 days before your order is handed to shipping; courier delivery time then depends on your destination. Please double-check the size chart before ordering — because each item is made for you, returns are easier to avoid by choosing the right size up front. If a print runs slightly differently from what you see on screen, that is the nature of made-to-order garment printing.
Disclosure
This is a reproduction / military-inspired item, not an issued uniform, and the garment itself is a modern printed piece for everyday wear. The Splitter Starke naming comes from documented pattern history, but this is not official issue equipment.
