Pattern: CADPAT Temperate Woodland — Canadian Disruptive Pattern

This is the pattern that made digital camouflage famous. CADPAT — Canadian Disruptive Pattern — was the first pixelated camouflage to be used operationally, adopted by the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997 and later the direct inspiration for the US Marine Corps MARPAT and a wave of other digital camos. Where older designs used soft brushstrokes, CADPAT replaced them with computer-generated blocks of colour built to fragment the silhouette at range, so the eye cannot lock onto a single strong edge.

The Temperate Woodland colourway is the classic Canadian field pattern. On this shirt the base is a bright, yellow-green field green, and over it sit irregular pixels of black, dark olive and a warm brown-tan. The light green reads a little brighter and more saturated than the deeper woodland camos you may know, which gives the pattern a fresh, vivid quality in the hand rather than a murky one.

On a lightweight hooded tee the pixel blocks break the silhouette up nicely across the arm, chest and hood, and because the fabric is smooth and tight the print holds its crisp, blocky detail. It is a genuine piece of camouflage history you can wear as everyday clothing — the design that kicked off the whole modern digital-camo era.

Why own it: this is the reference-point Canadian digital, a pattern every collector recognises and a genuinely significant piece of military design history. Its bright green reads quite differently from the woodland camos that fill streetwear, so on a top it stands out as both historical and visually fresh.

The garment. This is a lightweight long-sleeve hooded T-shirt, printed all over with the pattern you see on the image. It is cut with long sleeves and a hood and fits as a regular, athletic top. The fabric is a 94% polyester / 6% spandex blend, so it stretches with you, feels smooth against the skin and takes the all-over print cleanly. It is a lightweight piece — about 0.374 kg — and runs in sizes S to 3XL.

Fit and size. Because the sizes run S–3XL, pick the one closest to your usual top size; the stretch in the spandex gives a little forgiveness, but for a closer cut take a size down and for a looser, layer-over fit take a size up. The print is applied across the whole garment, so the pattern continues over the chest, arms and hood without a break.

Made to Order. Each shirt is printed and sewn after you place your order. Production and fulfilment take roughly 4 to 7 days before the item ships — that is the time to make and pack it, not the total delivery time, which then depends on transport once it leaves us. It is not sitting on a shelf, and that is what lets us offer thousands of patterns that would never be worth stocking.

Care. To protect the print, machine wash at or below 45°C, do not use bleach and avoid prolonged soaking. Launder on a normal cycle with like colours and don’t tumble dry hot. Cold, gentle washing is the best way to keep the colours bright.
