Pattern: Greek Lizard
The classic Greek brushstroke lizard — green, olive and black horizontal strokes on a tan ground.
About the pattern
The Greek lizard is a brushstroke camouflage derived from the French tenue de leopard, adopted by Greece around the 1970s and used by the Hellenic Army. Camopedia notes a variety of colourways have been produced over time, and the design is built from broad, horizontal brush strokes rather than the vertical stripes of the “seaweed” pattern. This render is the classic green lizard — green, olive and black brushstrokes on a tan ground, the most familiar and widely worn version of the Greek lizard.
This Greek Lizard colourway
The ground is a light tan-khaki, and over it sit broad brushstroke shapes in a mid green, an olive-green, a brown and scattered black accents. The strokes are roughly horizontal and organic, with feathered, brush-drawn edges. The palette is warm and varied — tan, green, olive, brown and black — giving the pattern a vegetal, naturalistic look. The brush-drawn edges give it the characteristic lizard texture, soft and feathered rather than sharp.
How it reads on the garment
Because the strokes are broad and the palette is warm, this pattern prints with a soft, natural feel. On the body the tan ground sits behind the green, olive, brown and black brushstrokes, giving the surface a feathered, organic texture. It reads as a classic green lizard, warm and vegetal, and it is one of the most recognisable Greek patterns. The warm tan ground sits well against the light hood lining and collar, keeping the neckline tidy.
Why own it
If you like the lizard family, the classic Greek Lizard is an essential pick — it is the best-known Greek camouflage, derived from the French leopard pattern and widely worn by the Hellenic Army. It appeals to collectors of lizard-family and Greek camouflage. And its warm green, olive, brown and tan palette is among the most wearable of all camos, pairing naturally with olive, khaki, tan, denim and brown. It is a classic, versatile camo.

Please double-check the size chart before ordering — because each item is made for you, returns are easier to avoid by choosing the right size up front. If a print runs slightly differently from what you see on screen, that is the nature of made-to-order garment printing.
Disclosure
This is a reproduction / military-inspired item, not an issued uniform, and the garment itself is a modern printed piece for everyday wear. The Greek lizard naming and its derivation from the French leopard pattern come from documented pattern history, but this is not official issue equipment.
